Natural Nutritents Selection Guide

Acerola Cherry & Wild Rosehip

Man made, Synthetic Vitamin C supplements (typically made from corn syrup), have extremely limited nutritional value.

The end result - Ascorbic Acid, may look like Vitamin C in a laboratory, but it is missing all of the natural, and essential co-factors that you find in a “food state” product.

Acerola Cherries and Wild Rosehips are two of the richest sources of Vitamin C known to man (far greater than for example oranges). They provide you with exceptional, food state vitamin C, but also all of the healthy nutrients that ensure maximum absorption and nutritional input. They are more effective than the synthetic supplement alternatives.

Acerola Fruit contains many vitamins and minerals, and over 150 phytonutrients including bioflavonoids, pectins and essential oils. Rosehips are packed with Vitamin C, but also A, D and E, lycopene, carotenoids, plant sterols, catechins, polyphenolics and pectins.

The huge array of nutrients work in perfect synergy. This is the way Vitamin C is meant to be. Ascorbic Acid simply doesn’t compare.

The beautiful, naturally pink powder is testament to the difference between synthetic and natural vitamin C.

Each capsule will typically provide 17% Vitamin C in a food state form, so 2 vegecaps per day will provide in the region of 170mg, (the UK RDA is 60mg per day, most people benefit from a little more than that).

And not only is this a food state Vitamin C, but also 100% additive free. Most products are packed full of additives, colours, fillers and binders. Not only are these potential allergens, but they actually decrease the absorption of the product you are taking.

ALL ingredients are shown in the description below. 100% natural and additive free. Guaranteed free from wheat, gluten, dairy, yeast, sugar, corn or GM ingredients. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) assured

The Role of Vitamin C in Your Body

Vitamin C is necessary for the normal structure and function of gums, skin, healing processes, bone and cartilage, blood vessels, the absorption of iron from food, protection from the damage caused by free radicals, and normal neurological function

How Vitamin C Changed History

Throughout history, millions of people have died due to nutritional deficiencies; in particular, during the great days at sea in the 17 and 1800s, more sailors died from scurvy than in battle (as many as 50% of sailing fleets).

In the mid 1600s, famous French explorer Jaques Cartier arrived in Newfoundland with his crew in tatters and a serious state of ill health. Native Indians cured the crew with spruce tree needles rich in Vitamin C.

In the early 1800s, a ship surgeon named Thomas Lind made what was a remarkable discovery at the time, and saved many lives. When citrus fruits were on board in the ships stores, sailors thrived, and the incidence of life threatening scurvy dropped. Later, in Captain Cook’s era, the British Navy adopted the idea as official policy; after experimenting, they found that limes were the easiest to store, and the term limeys was used to describe British sailors, and over time became a colloquial term for the British people in general!

As discovered by Dr Albert Szent-Georgi in 1937, Vitamin C not Ascorbic Acid was the Solution to Scurvy. Had the sailors been reliant on today’s synthetic Ascorbic Acid, outcomes would have been very different.

The Role of Food State Vitamin C Today

Although our soils are extremely deficient in trace minerals, thankfully, our basic nutrition is much improved today, and scurvy is no longer the common killer it once was.

Environmental toxins, chemicals and stress do however place a lot of stress on our bodies, and ensuring an adequate supply of healthy antioxidants is essential

Vitamin C is water soluble and cannot be stored by your body, so it is essential to ensure a good daily intake from your diet and supplements

Acerola Cherries & Wild Rose hips are the ultimate, natural Vitamin C combination, and provide you with a far more effective supply than cheap synthetic products.

Artificial, isolated sources can even place quite a burden on your body as it tries to process them.
